Artist Info \\ General

Artists upload new content to their profiles no more than once every two months. We think this gives people the right amount of time to take in artists work and spread the word.

A relevant image (photo or logo) is needed for each profile, along with any bio information and links you want to include. These can be as long or as short as you want.

Artists can withdraw any or all of their work from Flexiplec at any time, giving us one weeks notice but having to wait until the 1st of the month for the website to be updated (of course we hope this never happens!).

We encourage artists to let us know about any live dates, gigs & exhibitions you may have so we can update the site with events and include those dates in our newsletters. Please get this into us before the last week of the month, ready for the 1st of the month updates to the website.

If our artists are members of social networking sites such as Facebook & Audiofarm etc, again we encourage them to add us, join our groups and in general try & get as many of their friends to link us up as possible.

Artist Info \\ Audio

Demo policy - Simple - send us an email at info@flexiplec.co.uk with an individual track or link to somewhere where we can listen to your music (preferably a track that will be part of your proposed release). If we like what we hear we will get back to you and take it from there.

We have no contracts; the artist retains all copyrights to their material. The label is just a platform and neither wants, or requires, copyright to artists work.

In general we would prefer it if releases were unique to Flexiplec, although we might occasionally share releases with other .netlabels to spread the word. If you do want to put your release out on another .netlabel, all you have to do is let us know.

Releases are protected by Creative Commons cc, but artists are more than welcome to choose a cc of their own as they wish.

Not all our releases are mastered as we are not for profit, and as such have no funds to offer this service, releases usually go out as they come to us. (Should artists wish to master their releases and have the skills or funds to do this, please do.) However we can mix your tracks if needed. Please contact us for more details.

Artwork will have a small Flexiplec logo/watermark on the back cover so that people will know where the release came from.

Artwork will be 24x12cm folder & 12x12cm cd art, both high quality 300dpi jpeg. (Artwork templates & Flexiplec watermark are included in the information pack).

Artists are encouraged to supply their own artwork for releases as we feel that this makes the release more personal to the artist themselves. However, if artwork is needed we can arrange this, it just means the release may be delayed by a few weeks while we process the artwork.

Releases are, as of 2010, 192cbr mp3's available for download as individual files or complete, archived as .rar (we'll require .wav files & use our own software to compress audio so that all releases are uniform etc).

Promotion is a two way thing. Flexiplec will promote through our usual channels but it would be mutually beneficial to all involved if our artists could get involved in some of their own promotion.

Artists are more than welcome to include any other promotional & informative material in their releases (photos, videos, sticker artwork & flash games etc).

Artist Info \\ Visual

Submission policy - Send us an email at info@flexiplec.co.uk with an individual image or link to somewhere we can see your work. If we like what we see we will get back to you and take it from there.

We have no contracts; the artist retains all copyrights to their material. The label is just a platform and neither wants or requires copyright to artists work.

Visual media is protected by Creative Commons cc, but artists are more than welcome to choose a cc of their own.

Images are screen resolution 72dpi. jpegs and artists may have up to 15 images on their profile page.

Videos will generally be compressed in a quicktime format that fits the width of the website, a higher quality video may be compressed & made available for download as an archived .rar file should the artist wish.

Promotion is a two way thing. Flexiplec will promote through our usual channels but it would be mutually beneficial to all involved if our artists could get involved in some of their own promotion.

Bodies of work that are due to be, or have been exhibited, are of course welcome to be displayed on an artists profile page.

Nice one, look forward to hearing from you.
